Following the success of the brand, Relab was presented with the opportunity to redesign and develop 124 Shoes' new eCommerce site. Other than retaining the brand integrity, part of the key challenge in this project was a fully functional integration with an existing in-store POS system as well as a Customer Database that was housed in a completely separate system.

Dedicated in bringing the finest Italian and European handmade artisan shoes for those that value craftsmanship, lux materials & design, the business targets affluent, professional, urban and fashion confident individuals with primary age groups of 35+. The audience can be categorised as 60% men and 40% women.

The previous 124 Shoes website was built on and older technology, with no existing third party integrations or payment gateway. The website had no integration to store POS and inventory, which created problems in data integrity as the business grows. Although analytics data suggested the surge in mobile traffic is inevitable, the old website was not responsive and no dedicated mobile site was ever designed and developed. This created a lot of friction in end user experience.

With the ongoing involvement of the product owner (client), we came up with a workflow designed as a solution to long term management of the website. Together we selected an open source platform that is on budget and complies to the “must have” integrations mentioned. This led us to a customised Shopify website development, tailored specifically for the brand's needs and the scale of the business.

At the core of the project, 124 Shoes' need was to increase its online performance measured by Conversion and Sales that would position the brand stronger in the market amongst its direct competitors.

Through a simple and methodical work process that was carried since Discovery all the way through to Design and Development, we constantly assess the progress of development through rigorous rounds of testing and iterations, that brought us to the successful launch of the new 124 Shoes website.

The new website saw outstanding metrics upon launch, including:

  • Within 8 months, average monthly sales increased up to 900%
  • Within 3 months, website monthly active users up by 400%
  • Within 6 months, unique visitors increased up to more than 200%
